An Arizona native, Dr. Christensen is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. He received his D.O. degree from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO in 2004 and completed a combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Arizona, Tucson campus in 2008, serving as chief resident during his final year. After completing residency, Dr. Christensen served active duty in the military as an Army pathologist, stationed at Ft Hood, TX, where his responsibilities included numerous medical directorships and section chief of anatomic pathology.
Dr. Christensen has been with Western & Pinnacle Pathology since 2012 and is an active member of the Honor Health medical staff, with contributing roles in numerous clinical conferences and network committees. He is also an active member of the College of American Pathologists, and an officer for the Arizona Society of Pathologists.
Dr. Christensen has a wealth of experience in surgical pathology, breast pathology, cytology, hematopathology, and gastrointestinal pathology. His scholarly work has been published on a variety of topics and he is a contributing author of a general surgery text. He has been recognized throughout his training and career as an exceptional and well-rounded physician, receiving awards for academic excellence, research, and leadership.
